I just attached a USB device to the lower USB port on the back of the right side of the keyboard, and I got the Windows message "this device could perform faster if you plugged it in to a USB 2.0 port". Clicking the "see available ports" list shows 2 USB hubs, both bold indicating that they are 2.0.

Why would my port not be recognized as USB 2.0? Is this a driver issue? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, or know which driver I need to install to fix it?

    Thanks.

I've noticed that if I shift from a power scheme with a high brightness to one with a low brightness, the screen takes on a reddish tinge before returning to a normal colour. I assumed it was due to the red and blue LEDs being dimmed at different rates.

well i'd like to turn off the blueish glow as well :)

for the screen - mine has the same behavior. brigthening or darkening changes the color balance and it adjusts slowly to 'normal' back.

wow i dint realise so many ppl dint like the blue glow on the power adaptor lol.

i dont mind it cos its a deep blue, not a bright blue. the bright blue led's on my mum's inspiron 1525 are pretty annoying i have to say.

i think the deep blue on the m4400 looks stealthy lol...

anyway, ppl using PDA's with annoying bright blinking bluetooth lights have always been using blu tack or duct tape to cover it, or you could use a paintbrush and apply a layer of acrylic paint

leave a tiny bit unpainted though, so you can still see if there is power or not

lol yeah she's pretty anti-technology - a definite case of "opposites attract" here.

I think the lights on the keyoard are pretty cool, but the power adapter faces her when I'm sitting on the couch near her, and she's kinda sensitive to LEDs anyway - the LED taillights on Cadillacs drive her batty.

make her get used to it. tie her up and dump her in a room covered in various led's of all shapes and forms. and for good measure, put a couple of vicious AIBO sony robot dogs in there too.

or you could just try the acrylic paint on the LED. she wont have to worry about the cadillacs for long. i dont think it'll be much longer before they burn thru all the dole cash they got and go bust :p

Little piece of electrical tape over that blue ring should block it right out... Problem fixed

the electrical tape thing is probably the last option. because when you do want to remove it, it normally leaves that disgusting sticky residue that gets dust/hair/etc to stick onto it afterwards.

IMO painting it is the best option. i cant remember if its acrylic paint thats the one you can peel off.

Yeah, I think covering it somehow sounds like the best course of action right now. Probably paint - tape comes off and gets messy far to easily.

Anyone know anything about the USB problem I'm having?
