Just get a small bottle of dark nail polish and put some on there. With nail polish you get a nice shiny finish that is resistant yet easily removable with remover if you change you mind. As an added bonus, the nail polish comes with it's own brush so no need to go hunting for one.

Also, nail polish will act as a deterrent to that nasty urge of always wanting to bite one's adapter plug ;)

If nail polish is just too feminine an option, some model paint will do as well.

Acrylic paint dries to a nice hard finish. That's probably the one you want if you go that route.

I just hope someone's wife will not complain about the backlight on the keyboard. I hate to think of the solutions we would concoct for that project :D

I can't see the LED plug when I'm using it,and don't really care if it bother's anybody else....but then I'm selfish like that;)

@Dabeer,you should try banning your wife from using the car, washing machine, dryer, dish washer, make her walk everywhere etc etc etc.....pretty sure she will soon learn to love technology :D

Have been trying that Tuniq TX-2 thermal paste we were talking about for the last day,it seems to be 2-3 deg better, nothing major, but when added to the AS5 improvement over the dell paste it add's up to 7 or 8 deg better than it was originally.
Also tried using the "blob" method instead of the normal careful spreading,as the review's I had read, gave better result's when applying like this....blob about the size of a match head on each core.

@PerComp....look forward to seeing your review:)

you cant apply the "blob" method to as5 right? since its thicker?

i'll be flying to singapore in march, i'll probably pick up some thermal paste there and the dell coolslice (cheaper).

im wondering if i should stick to the proven AS5 or go with the TX2

I've got model paints, I'll try those. I'm not sure my wife has black nail polish anyway :)

Still wondering about my USB issues... two ports on the back right of the system are behaving like USB 1.1 ports?

I just received my refurbished M4400 yesterday. Everything's good, except for the high DPC latency issue.

It might just be my mind, but the high latency seems to affect system performance. Overall, the system feels sluggish. I don't know exactly what the latency affects, but it idles from 300-600microsecs and hits a 23000 spike every minute or so. My old desktop idles at around 10, max 130. No spikes.

I've searched the forums and people seem to have this problem. I'm wondering if this is an issue I should be concerned with, since I am still eligible for a return right now.

    Specs:
    P8400
    15.4 WXGA LED
    2GB
    770M
    XP Pro
Dell 1397 Wireless(seems to be the cause of the spikes)
DVD-RW(disabling this brought me down from 9000 to 300)
