    No.

Try the older bios's,if that does nothing, time to call Dell.....blow listening to the fan at full 24/7

Could maybe try speedfan, don't know if it work's on the M4400 because I haven't tried it.

Well I just got my M4400, it's really great, so far I haven't noticed the problems others have it came with bios A11 and everything is working fine, the fan, the dvd/rw,audio (I did remove the drivers) , the screen is amazing. I am going to make more test and I think I will put together a review with pictures of it.
the only odd thing that happened is that after the battery died and went to "sleep/hibernate" in vista when i plugged the laptop the screen was red/pink (all of it) so I restarted the laptop and it was all right again I think that way I validated that the screen is really RGB
I am using it with Vista Business 64, but I am planning on reformatting it to take some of the Dell SW

    Dell Precision M4400, X9100 3.06ghz, 8gb ram, 250 HDD, 120 2nd HDD,quadro FX 1700M, WUXGA RGBLED 1920x1200, intel 5300, 9 cell battery, backlit keyboard, DVD,fingerprint reader, webcam

    Hi Thomas,

Could you share you icc profiles? I wanna see what difference it will make to my RGB LED screen before I serious get a spyder3 or something. It seems like there is too much green and red which makes it like over-saturated.
    Thanks. :)

Hi my friends.. i need to know a thing befor buy my new m4400..

I saw that there isn't any tv-out port in the note.. only a vga out and displayport adapter.

But if i want to connect my note to a normal tv with a SCART adapter.. usually, with my note.. i've a S-VIDEO port with an SCART/S-VIDEO adapter, and i link tv and pc..

    But how can eith m4400??

And for the audio.. with my actual note.. my headphone port is an S/PDIF port.. and i can connect, with optical cable my note to my digital ampli..

The audio port in the M4400.. is a digital port??

    How can do this??

there are a whole range of adaptors available for the displayport connection.

it makes sense because if one were to add every kind of AV out to a notebook the ports would cover one whole side...

better to just have displayport which can be used with all kinds of adaptors

Try Burning a dvd with Bios A11. I can't burn a dvd without errors with that bios. A06 seems to work fine for that tho.

Unlike the macbook pro the Audio port is only Analog on this laptop. You can't have digital out from the line out and you can't have digital in from the line in.

There is a digital audio out on this laptop. It is from the display port. When you use an HDMI adapter you get the video and also the audio in digital format. I don't know if that helps you in connecting to your amplifier but it is an option others may want to explore.

My temps are at 44C for the cpu and 61C for the gpu. Would that be enough to justify having the fan always on full speed?

It gets cooler when it's not docked and I have it opened up using the laptop keyboard. Maybe that's why it kicks on...being docked.

Right now my temps (idling) are 38c CPU and 53c GPU

Fan still working hard. It JUST quieted it up. Temps are now 38c CPU 52c GPU. Might aswell try leaving it docked with the lcd open...

Anyone here with an extreme CPU? Under my computer properties what does it show the cpu as? What does your bios show the cpu as?

Mine shows Intel Core 2 Extremem CPU Q9300, not QX9300. CPU-Z shows Intel Core Quad T9400...

The HP 8530W i had for like 2 days showed it correctly as a QX9300.
