Ah you're right. I think you need to get the laptopvideo2go drivers.

hmmm...just checked for the latest driver package on there for Vista64, the 770M is there but the 1700M isn't

What you could try is go here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers

Go to the device manager in your laptop, right-click the FX 1700M, click properties, go to the details tab, scroll to hardware-id's.
There you see the data you need to fill in as search terms on the web page, just the missing numbers and/or letters. Check the Vista64 box and let it search. Hopefully it'll find a version with the 1700M drivers in it.

btw. always be sure to check you get the Quadro FX 1700M driver and not the FX 1700 which would be the desktop version.

Did you try a search on this forum already? I think this came up already

Let me know if it works

I've got two questions that I'm hoping someone can answer -

I'm curious how the 1920x1200 resolution compares to the 1440x900 - particularly can anyone show a picture of the desktop at the former?

Can anyone speak on the battery savings when comparing the two Ultra Sharp Screens (CFFL vs RGB LED)?

    Thank you, I appreciate it.

    Hi Minibob,

Do you know how to enable 5.1 sound? I've been trying to do so with Dell's assistance for more than two weeks, but there seems to be something missing. Actually, at first I had stereo sound, but now only Video...

    Thanks.

    Xirurg,

Did you solve your XP install problem? There is another way: to create a new XP install disc with AHCI drivers already in the disc.

I did it with Dell's help and it became easy (after a day trying to discover a solution...)

    AUDIO PROBLEM

BTW, I reinstalled Vista e installed drivers carefully (following Dell's suggested order) and my sound click problem started only after I installed my Dell 1500 wireless driver. Did anyone noticed the same?

I've just received my new M4400 (to replace a faulty M4300) and I'm experiencing a problem with docking into the E-Port. I didn't use the E-Port for the first few booting cycles, but every time I now dock the M4400 into the E-Port, it freezes and accepts no input from the keyboard, touchpad or mouse. I have to power it off by holding down the power button. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a known cure?

Also, are there any downsides in downgrading the BIOS to A02 or A03 to stop the fan from constantly being on?

What is the source of your audio? File or disc?
    What software are you using?
    What are you outputting to?

Hi everybody! Let me join this Lounge as a newbie who has just received his new dell m4400 :) Happy about to have it :) I will access with an easy question, which I've also found at other thread but also there without the solution yet:(http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=325461). Who knows how to confirm/check the type of display backlit installed on your notebook? It is written nowhere! On Device Manager we only get Hardware ID (in my case it is Generic PnP Monitor, SEC5443, but as we know there are various manufacturers of the displays for this brand and this has nothing to do with a sort of back illumination added). Yeah, must say that colours displayed are vivid and illumination quite even, but to have it written black on white, i can find this information only on the email order from dell-partner reseller.
Where do You find written the information about the CCFL/2CCFL/WLED/RGBLED illumination applied at your system?
