    Thank you. I can't seem to find a datasheet on the 770m anywhere that details the possible output resolutions.

    2 monitors at 2048 x 1152 (16x9) will also not be a problem?

    When you want to install XP you have to set SATA operation to ATA/IDE in BIOS before running startup, XP doesn't have the AHCI drivers built in.
    After the setup is done you can manually install the AHCI driver through the device manager.

    You should be able to delete the Win7 install with EasyBCD (free download)
    With that you can write a new MBR.

    I can help you on #2 and #3. With Vista, Microsoft has replaced the boot.ini file (from Win XP) with a command line application called bcdedit (should be in your PATH by default). Someone has posted an extremely good guide to using bcdedit here: http://www.vistaforums.com/FORUM/Topic587-9-1.aspx. Using bcdedit, you can also determine the order in the preboot menu, the default OS, as well as the number of seconds the preboot menu is displayed (if at all). You will also be able to remove OS labels (or rename them) if you so desire. The guide listed above worked perfectly for me as I had to configure a Vista test partition so that I could do some Small Business Server domain testing for a client.

    Good luck!!

    Edit: Kudos to LPTP-LVR for offering an alternative option.

    hey,
    the tech changed the motherboard and cooling system today.
    so far i can't report too much - i think the cooling got a lil bit better.
    though, a big problem arrised. they upgraded my graphic card to a fx1700m as well.

    does anyone know where to get vista 64bit drivers for the fx1700m?

    so far im stuck, dell could'nt help either, just offering to replace it with a fx770m on monday.

    any hints would be very helpfull :}

    cheers, gordon

    What's up with that, they seem keen on unasked-for upgrades somehow, also with refurb/SND replacements.

    You can download the FX 770M driver package from the Dell site, the 1700 drivers are also in there
