The right answer I was looking for. Thank you very much I really appreciate you taking time to write this guide..

I was looking into other threads, but didnt quite understand in one by one step. I am great with hardware, but not with software.

    Hello,

So I just replaced the dell stock thermal pad with AC5. For the thermal pad on memory chips, i did not replace them..

Before, it was around 94-95. Now it goes up to 104c... This is 10c worse after repasting.

What have I done wrong? Perhaps replacing the pad on the gpu die which had some thickness did this since AC5 is really fluid and has no thickness?

Thank you for your help in advance.

ok now after repasting with ac5 and no replacing of the thermal pad, the temp shoots up till 105. it surpases 105 with furmark so i just turned the program off.

it was around 95 before repasting.. I am not sure even with settling of the ac 5, it will knock off 10c..

    Help..

We need a bit more information to help you out bro.

Did you make sure that the die was well cleaned of the old thermal paste before you put on the new stuff? What method did you use to apply the paste?

it was cleaned with alcohol i made sure.

I did pasting many many many many times so I know how it works.

i just did a very short line method since the die is like short rectangle. And I made sure that the screws are all tight. It could be since the thermal pad on the mem chips are too thick.

Does it mean that we actually need to use thermal pad on the gpu die since the mem thermal pad is pretty thick?

i might try to get that 0.5mm thermal pad for the memory.

What else could i try? I dont think after 200 hrs of settling time it would make like 10c+ difference.... :( :(

Are you saying you put paste on the vram instead of pads?

for video memoryy, i didnt not do anything.

all i did for repasting was repaste the gpu die. vram has the dell stock thermal pad.

Currently putting some heat so it can settle, but the temps are pretty much staying the same.
