Precision M4600 - Dual Core - 4 DIMM RAM???

    The other software on Dell's site ("Dell ControlVault Windows Biometric Framework Integrated" under Security) integrates the fingerprint reader natively in to Windows, but gets rid of the pre-boot (i.e. power-on) authentication, etc.

    It appears you can only have one or the other...

    Yes, it's possible. I do.

    Local login. No domain or enterprise network.

    Crap software that is delivered with the M4600; fingerprint reader is essentially useless, but the contactless card reader works pretty well.

    Where are you located? If you are in the right area, I'll tell you what card I use ...

    i am located in New England region.

    where can I purchase the card? contactless or contact card either or them I do not mind. I am assuming that the software can help program to authenticate it, but I just couldnt find the RIGHT card.

    Please let me know.

    I just couldnt find the immediate thread that discusses this.

    Can anyone PLEASE give me a link to where I can get the latest one? Right now the drivers from dell site is installed.

    I dont want to get the drivers from ATI website since that locked up my card before....

    Anyways I would really appreciate your help!!

    You should update the VBIOS before you upgrade drivers from the Stock Dell driver.

    so I MUST flash the vbios using that guide before installing the drivers directly from ATI right? urggg..

    does the latest driver really make a difference??? I just dont want to risk it...
