How is your external RAID 1 configured?
On the road (no RAID 1) then when connected to docking station only the new files are automatically duplicated to external RAID 1?

It isn't yet. I haven't gotten the system. With Xmas I'm already dropping a load on family and firends. :p However with Intel Matrix Storage software I'm going to set it up exactly like you are describing. The software auto replicates the change to the external disk.

    Hi everyone:

It is good to see so much activity in this forum. I haven't had too much time playing with my Covet yet, except for running the diagnostics. During the pre-boot system assessment, my Covet fails to access the LCD EDID EEPROM. Does that happen to everyone? I am also having issues with the audio stuttering. As for people having problems connecting to a wireless network, I have experienced that as well when I tried to connect to an access point that does not broadcast its SSID. The Covet won't connect at all. Then like 20 minutes later, it connects. I believe the culprit is the Intel PROSet software, once I disabled that and used Windows to manage my wireless connections, I had no problems.

Does anyone have any issues with the paint job? My Covet's top cover has spots that are discolored.

My paint job is perfect, and my wireless is working good connecting to my NetGear Wireless-N router, and it stays connected. As far as the studdering sound, I sometimes get that at startup only, but other people on this forum say that Dell has a fix and is currently testing it out before posting it on the support site.

smckenna, Thanks for the info. Have you run the diagnostics and ran into this cannot access LCD EDID EEPROM error?

Sorry, but since I had to re-load Vista from scratch I blew away my utility partition. I don't think I can run diagnostics any more.

Hi all -first post on this forum.

I received my M6400 late last week-
T9600; 8GB Ram; Quadro 3700M, RGB LED LCD; Vista 64

Since getting it, I've wiped it entirely, reinstalled the drivers, updated, etc. I'm still dealing with the same issues:

    1. Video card is unstable. It's not an application performance issue, but a base windows problem- if I enable Aero, there's a lot of refresh issues, etc.

    2. Audio stutters a lot- any video or audio playing, it stutters approximately every 1-1.5 minutes. Just enough to be really freakin' annoying.

This is an amazing piece of machinery, but I'm not certain if it's just a driver problem, or actual hard ware issues- I'm leaning towards hardware since I've had the same problems with it running Vista 64 or Server 2008, but given their similarities, I can't definitively say so.

    Any ideas?

    Roger

RSiggs, this maybe a foolish question. Did you re-install the drivers in the prescribed order suggested by Dell?
