Maybe because some of us aren't using it as a workstation. This is a desktop replacement for me. And as such if I'm taking it with me on a working trip I'd like to be able to watch movies on the thing. Just because the thing is labeled a workstation doesn't mean its sole use is simply for business applications. I'm going to be blunt. If it wasn't for the M6400 I'd be looking at another company for my next laptop. (And the only reason I want to stick with Dell is I'm a Dell tech. I can repair my own system and get a nice discount on purchases.) Dell's XPS line is a joke when it comes to high end. And I absolutely HATE their Alienware crap. Which, sadly, leaves their workstation line or nothing.

PS- For those who are thinking my previous post was b!7ch!ng at specific people, that was not my intention. I'm simply seeing way too much FUD being spread around about Vista. Some of it unintentional. Some of it very much intentional with the intent to smear MS's already crappy name, and its getting on my nerves. Because if a product is going to get blasted let it be blasted for factual issues. No issues that originate with things outside the control of MS. Read: Hardware or driver issues. I'll leave it at that.

I'll also throw it out there that I like Vista, and I'm an IT Manager for a telecommunication company. We don't run it in house, but I run it at home and recommend it to friends and family. You wouldn't believe all the FUD I hear around here.

Vista on my M6400 so far has been great. I don't have any complaints about this machine so far. It runs all my games at the highest resolutions, boots fast, the RGB screen is immaculate. My only beef is with the heat it produces, but it isn't bad and isn't going to fry my leg hairs off.

I would love the option to watch a blue ray movie in my hotel room when I'm traveling! I do A LOT of design work and look forward to doing so on my M6400 when it arrives but like I said having the option to watch a blue ray movie when I have a little down time would be great. @5150cd - I hated vista when it first came out but now that I spend more time with it I am a fan. There are just little things that make it easier to use and manage. I am glad to hear some one else feels the same way.

I never thought BluRay would be anything great, but man, on this screen, I would love to watch some HD content.

The point is you don't need a blue ray drive to play blue ray movies!

What are "blue" ray movies? :D
Also.. When did I ever say I wanted to play movies? I didn't, so you can take your point and play somewhere else please.

    Regards,
    Simon
