I know it's more inconvenient but you can probably find a slim external blue-ray burner to carry in your bag.

I'd take a guess that the reason for no blue ray support has something to do with Dell switching to slot loader drives. I wouldn't go on my word alone, because I am guessing, but I would guess that the drive in there is user replaceable. If you can get a slim blue ray burner you might be able to stick it in there yourself.

Maybe if you have another laptop lying around with another slim CD drive, see if the other laptop's drive will fit in the M6400. If it does, things look good.

Intoxicate, did you see the question I asked you regarding the screen on your M6400? (It is on this thread)

Ok I'll bite. How do you watch a blu-ray movie without a blu-ray player?

One thing that really bugs me about this notebook is when I type wearing a short sleeve shirt my watch rubs against the wrist pad. Minor complaint I know, but I don't want to scratch this thing. :(

misterbk, was it you that I saw at one time with a thread saying you were going to compare the E2E glossy screen with the Matte RGB LED screen? If so, did you ever do that?

My m6300 I had to take my Seamaster off or it would have scratched the hell out of both the watch and the palmrest. Only answer? Take the watch off or your palmrest will get real crappy looking pretty fast.

During the last weeks I compared the E2E-screen with any notebook and desktop screen available in my environment (MacBook Pro, XPS 1530M, M4400, Dell 2007WFP...). Compared to the XPS and MacBook glossy screen you can hardly see the matte layer of the E2E screen. Compared to the matte screen the glass plate reduces the matte refraction of the light that comes from the screen itselfs so you get better contrasts and less refracted colors and that's exactly what I was hoping for.

So after all I'm very happy the glass plate adds a benefit to the RGB-screen. That's what changed my mind ;)
But unfortunately I couldn't compare the RGB directly with the E2E screen...

Some pictures would be very appreciated!

i hate slot loading drives. my cd's always seem to get scratched using them.

i find it quite weird that for their ultra high end business machine they went with a design choice thats more about form over function
