I have a new one after my two failed repairs, it's working much better. I must say that I cannot type on this keyboard, for some reason I always trigger the left side ctrl key while touch typing, which is very distracting. At this point, I have glitched this little paragraph three times and I cannot say what I am doing to cause it!

Does Acronis work with SSDs? And can you image a SSD to a regular disk? I've always relied on Acronis and now I just got my m6400 with a 64GB SSD and a 320GB regular drive. I certainly hope it doesn't make any difference to Acronis because it's about as good as they get (from my experience anyway)

I think I have to change two of my recent comments. Keyboard flex is noticeable. It's not a lot but if you type all day long you get to "feel" it at the fingertips especially around the "I" and "O" letters. On the other hand I really like the feeling of the keyboard, the travel and cushion of the keys.

The colours of the screen are a bit off. There have been a lot of technical descriptions about it, but in simple terms I would say that the reds and the greens are like someone has injected some fluorochromes in them. I mean in MS Office Word document, if you mark something it gives you the impression that you have used the actual marker on the screen! There is absolutely no way that you can miss it:) Some say theh have been able to correct it by calibrating, some not. I do not have any calibrator so I cannot test it.
It doesnt bother me a lot, but I can fully inderstand it can become annoying for people doing photography. It has been said that it is a deep problem starting from the OS that cannot actually support the fact that this screen covers 100% of the gamut and that Windows7 solves it. I will let you know.

As an additional note, the screen brightness is really high. I am currently working with it at <20% of its power, otherwise I am going to get a headache! :) I have not seen something like that before!

Received my M6400 2 days ago. So far many problems and issues:

    1) system received with RGB 2E2 glass plate having an edge cracked
    2) DVD unit dead on arrival
    3) keyboard is pretty "cheap" and incline to flex.

Waiting for DELL technician tomorrow to try to get these things fixed.

So i'm not pleased nor impressed so far, the biggest cause of concern being how vista business (factory installation) behaves, filling logs with all sort of problems.
These are some examples, collected in about 48h:

    - The NTRU TSS is not running, Wave Software is unable to communicate to TPM

    - The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
    AFD

    - The Dell ControlPoint System Manager service terminated unexpectedly.

    - The Dell ControlPoint Button Service service terminated unexpectedly.

    - Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error querying for the IVssWriterCallback interface. hr = 0x80070005. This is often caused by incorrect security settings in either the writer or requestor process.

    - Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side authentication. The data field contains the error number.

    Quite interesting this one:

    - The Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool tested the computer's memory and detected hardware errors. To identify and repair these problems, contact the computer manufacturer

I redid memory test tool and all was fine.
Also i stumbled upon a quite exhilarating error:

    - The NTRU TSS v1.2.1.28 TCS service depends on the TPM Base Services service which failed to start because of the following error: The operation completed successfully.

So far i've got also EXPLORER and event viewer MMC "closing unexpectedly" at least once.
Did you checked your evennt logs ? Do you have the same kind of problems ?

Wow! These are 2 reasons to start yelling at people! Edge cracked? Did they drop it or what?
As a general note I have to agree that the Quality Control is... low. Check a few posts above in order to see my experience. They changed GFX unit and screen on day 1...

I got this warning too but I have not a clue about its meaning and importance...
