I took delivery of mine about two weeks ago and had a choice of keeping it or the M4400 I had. I kept the M6400. I don't travel a lot but when I do it is cross country (Seattle to the East Coast) 2-3 times a year. I also take it to work and haven't noticed a remarkable difference between the two in terms of weight.

As to the power adapter, it came with the slim adapter standard. Thinking I was getting the big brick, I had my sales rep order the alternative adapter and when it showed up it was the same one that came with the computer so now I have a spare.

I was reading in a different thread that the Kensington Contour Roller works without any problem.

That will save your back from carrying the laptop along with books.

Actually, what I have is a spare. So far the power adapter is the only thing I've had fail on a Dell notebook (6 of them) and this one took 3 weeks to get. Sorry, I think I'll keep this one.

How does everyone like the M6400? How is the RGB LED screen?

I am looking to buy a refurbished one, I do alot of stuff in After Effects, Photoshop, Zbursh, XSI, 3ds Max and Maya.

So How does everyone like this laptop. From the specs it seems pretty nice.

I can't speak for "everyone"... but I love my M6400. The RGB-Screen is after calibration great, the ccfl screen is good for normal tasks, but if you do Photoshop etc. you want to go with the RGB-screen.

The M6400 I purchased from the outlet came with a Dell 1397 a/g wireless card. I would like to replace it with a 5300 draft n card off of eBay. The 1397 has two antennas and the 5300 uses 3. I don't want to completely disassemble the laptop. Does anyone know if adding a third antenna can be done by just laying it somewhere under the back cover?

The antenna is already there, you just need to pop out the old card and put the new one in and then hook up all 3 antennas.

I was reading that someone swapped out the E2E Glass (Covet) with a RGB LED matt screen. They did that because they had multiple m6400's (spares I think).

How hard would it be without a donor m6400? What are the part numbers needed?

Actually, how can I find an exploded view with all the part numbers - that would be better.

    Thanks in advance :)
