Hi guys! I need some help here please. The thing is that i cannot install the Matrix storage manager application and therefore my e-sata port does not work. An error comes up during the installation of this application saying that "system configuration doesn't meet minimum requirements". I have a top of range modification with qx9300, 16gb ram, 1tb hdd etc. This thing started when i installed XP instead of Vista. Does anyone have any idea where the problem is?
    Thank you

8 or 9 years ago I built a dual cpu (1 GHz Pentium 3) for about the same price that my wife built a single cpu (1.4 GHz AMD).

2 or 3 years went by and the wife bought a new Dell, not cutting edge but faster and better than the last one.

2 or 3 years after that same thing, wife bought another new Dell, same thing, not cutting edge but faster and better than the last one.

1 or 2 years ago, same thing, wife bought another new Dell, once again faster and better (hyper threading) but not cutting edge.

She went though 3 computers and my dual cpu out worked all of them and it wasn't until the hyper threading came out (equivalent to dual cpu) was her computer able to keep up with mine.

Quad core is definitely worth the extra money over a "faster" dual core.

I should add that I am still using the dual cpu but not as my main one now since that has been replaced by a Dell T7400 - Dual Quad Xeon :D

Longhair thanks for the links but it didn't work. Maybe it's got something to do with BIOS settings? I changed from AHCI to ATA when installing XP. Maybe that is the reason?

I also had a very mild case of the stutters on my first install of XP and read the same thing about installation order. A reinstall folllowing the correct installation order and it disappeared. In the 'Reimage' manual on the Dell download page it has the order in which to install things. After a BIOS update, if needed, Dell System software comes first and the guide I mentioned has the rest of the list. If you can't find that I'd be happy to send you a copy.

If I remember correctly, it needs to be set in the BIOS - I'm going off of my desktop so keep that in mind.

Since you are running XP and want to set the BIOS to AHCI, I suggest you read the following first: Advanced Host Controller Interface (that will save you a lot of aggravation).

My suggestion before doing anything is to spend a few days of reading and thinking: CLICK ME

So how many of you guys take your laptops around from time to time. I was thinking since I dont game as much anymore and tend to take my laptop around town that a M4400 might be a better choice??
