I'd have to call that a very subjective question that only you can answer. You already know the 4400s a bit lighter and a bit smaller than the 6400 but with a few less bells & whistles. I move my 6400 around quite a bit in a 15 pound Pelican case and don't mind it at all. Lots of others would scream at that but I don't really notice it.

And does anyone know a decent free antispy that won't crash Windows 7? A recommended but never tried SuperAntiSpy blue screens it if opened. And since I've found a much better uninstaller, a much better defragger, a much better firewall and more and watched Microsoft ruin Giant Antispy that was very good in it's day until Microsoft got their hands on it I think depending on Windows Defender just goes against informed habit and more than a few here are running 7 so I thought I'd ask.

I use NOD32 as my primary (paid) antivirus/antispy, with the free Spybot S&D as backup... never had an compatibility issue with the latter from XP to Win 7 x64!

I think you'll lose more money when you sell your M6400, than you can save.
The FX1700 actually is a little overclocked FX770! You can overclock the FX770 if you need the extra power so I won't pay any premium for the FX1700. I had the M4400 before I switched to a M6400, I won't go back.

just a little note as well.
I seem to have sorted out my BSOD issues during games.
When I checked the physx panel I discovered it was enabled by default.
Switching it off and been gaming for the last 2 nights on it with no issues.
Plus GPU temps are down about 11c on load.

As someone who has only seen the word physx one other time in some technical paper and who has a similiar M6400 I ask, how and where do you find this "physx panel". I seem to remember it's some display gadget that isn't of much use yet or something but don't have a clue where it is or how to access it. Thanks if you can clear that up for me.

I could use one. I'm in Costa Rica and even though Dell has an assembly plant here it's on the other side of the country and it'd most likely be quicker and easier to do it online. How much? Or if you're into trading I have a bunch of 2.5" external drives, an external floppy disk drive, a Toshiba P305 Satellite, an e-sata 3.5 external drive and a pile of various adapters up to 130 watt and if I dig into my 'spares' pile probably other stuff. Or just cash. Again, how much are you looking to get for it?
