The edge to edge is RGB LED, regardless if you have the red cover (covet) or the silver cover

Odd, but my configuration list is worded differently. Is that a translation from German? Because on the display this is what mine says and it reads so differently that I can't say what you have unless only the RGB is available in the edge to edge configuration. But again, my configuration list reads differently and I do have the LED. But everything is a 'module'. If it's any help this is exactly what mine says:

    1 U777G Module, Liquid Crystal Display 17, RGBE2E, B-ORNG, M6400

Is there a way to tell the difference between the different displays. I want to be sure that I am getting a LED display.

Edge to Edge is ONLY available with RGB LED, there's also a matte RGB LED but if you don't mind a glossy screen you'll be certain when you get the E2E.

Thanks everybody for all your help regarding my post (#2264).

As a follow up, here are a few other questions:

    1. Can someone verify that there are no problems when running WS2008x64 with the 17" UltraSharp™ WideScreen WUXGA RGB LED Edge2Edge Covet Display?
    2. Can someone verify proper operation of two Intel X25-M drives in RAID0 on this machine?

    Thanks,
    HB

    1) I tested WS2008 for about 2 weeks on my M6400, it worked without any problems!

    2) I've read some post about a two X25-M setup right in this thread. I didn't have any problems runnning two hdds in Raid, nor had problems running a sdd + hdd... I think all possible disk solutions work fine.

    Fantastic - thanks!

By the way, I see you are running W7x64. How would you compare/contrast that with WS2008x64? My primary interest is in having a robust system. I manage about 30 computers that have everything between XPx32 through WS2008x64, but NOT W7 yet. I regard my WS2008x64 systems as the most robust. (I do not need Server to host multiple users in the case of the M6400). Does W7x64 compare (on the M6400)?

I like W7 more, just because I use all the extras like MediaCenter... I have some issues when I wake the system up from standby, but I use a lot of Vista drivers, so I can't say w7 is ultra stable...

Can anyone suggest the latest video drivers that work for a 3700m M6400? I tried 185.81, but the screen was messed up. The latest Dell driver from April work fine, but thought there will be a better, newer driver out there.

EDIT: I should mention it is for Vista 64.

    Cheers!

The 186 series work, if you had been reading the thread.

That being said, the latest drivers to work with the E2E screen and the Quadro 3700M are here: http://laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24290

You will need to download the modded inf of course.

    Brand new 190 series.

Using these right now in Windows 7, although they are Vista drivers. No screen distortion. Haven't tested game compatibility yet however.

These are for Quadro's although they didn't support the 3700M without the modded INF, so I'm hoping compatibility is generally better regardless.
