ha ha ha... new car syndrome...

do you find yourself giving your lappy a wipedown before you go to sleep?

i use a screen protector and i fold it over to place over the palm rest area...
mind you the plastic, you will find, is much more durable than steel/aluminium in the sense that it will not deteriorate to the constant exposure of sweat/perspiration as it does on metal.

but give it a nice wipe down, use the screen protector... i find that the pointstick nub touches my screen...

Fair point. I tend to take care of this laptop better than many things in my possession.

It's a fine piece of equipment, easily worth some extra care.

    Hey ppl!

    I have an unusual question.

I've ordered new M6400 non covet version, with a RGB - led screen (not the E2E), but forgot to order the damn camera with microphone. I already received my laptop, but cannot return it (I'm from Slovenia, order was taken from Austria, since it's unbelievably cheaper there), so I'm wondering if it's possible to order separately the 2MB Camera with plastic cover or whatever to perform install on my own? Or does it needs to be produced with camera within the fabric?

Thanks to all who give the answers to ppl like me! :)

    Cheerz!

    Hi Generalle:

If you really want the camera, the easiest thing would be ordering the entire lcd assembly with the lcd, cover and bezel already all integrated. Then you just remove the old assembly and pop the new one in. Otherwise, you can still do it yourself if you are pretty handy. You would have to order the RGBLED cover with the integrated 2M camera and the bezel with the camera opening. Then you would have to open up your current assembly, remove the lcd, pop it into the new cover and then attach the new bezel. Finally, you can just pop the new assembly in.

I could use some 64bit wisdom for a problem I'm having with 64bit Windows 7. I can't get the 64bit model to recognize the FX3700 card as even being on the computer. It's installed on a partition of my second drive, the same place I had Vista and Windows 7 32bit installed. The 32bit version needed nothing in the way of System Software or anything else from the download page. It even picked up on a new driver and asked permission to install it. I never checked on the Dell stuff because it ran fine, though whether or not it was installed I can't say for sure. I get a 7.4 rating on everything non GPU related but it drops to a 1 when you include graphic performance. I go to the Dell download page and no matter what I try to download it first downloads some kind of download manager which it then informs me it can't open. I've considered downloading the driver on my XP drive but before I try shoving it down the throat of the Win 7 install thought I'd try asking here first. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

I'm betting you that you didn't bother to read anything in this thread....it's been reported numerous times especially by me..
If ur experiencing this issue only use the Dell drivers...seems to have fixed it fine for me.

Dell has new drivers up and running for Windows 7 64bit. They were on and then off again for a few days. They are back up now. 186.21 from DELL or 186.81 from LaptopVideo2go.

Either one works well. I tried them both.

Excuse my ignorance guys, but what's the advantage of going with the drivers from LaptopVideo2go over and above the ones from Nvidia?

    Thanks.
