I ordered October 22nd, had an eta at December 8th and its being delivered on Monday November 17th. They said it probably would be faster than first eta tho.

I am thinking about doing RAID, so this may be a stupid question. Do bigger hard drives in the same family, for example WD Scorpio Black, perform better than the smaller ones? I assume the smaller ones might be less expensive, weigh less, and consume less power.

I believe you're right about the specific options causing a delay. I was calling 3rd party memory vendors if they had the 4GB SODIMMs in stock and all of them said they did not and did not plan on carrying them because they're so expensive to carry. With that information, I would guess that the buyers who purchased the memory configuration with 8GB or more with the 4GB SODIMMs might have a longer delay if Dell does not already have that memory in their inventory.

Hopefully coolslice for M6400 will become available.

Now all I need is one of those juicy coupons ...

Has anybody found a 3rdparty power adapter which can be used instead of this "brick" that ships with the M6400?

I found a slim one from Kensington (Wall/Auto/Air Ultra Portable Notebook Power Adapter ) but unfortunately it is just supports 120W :-(

    Cheers
    Stefan
