onyro, when was your original ship date? Just curious because I'm trying to get an estimate on when to expect mine.

onyro ordered his on the 16th found that out from reading his other post, i am in the same boat you are in, THE WAITING IS KILLING ME, i ordered mine on oct 22, with an estimated ship date of 11-20-2008 --- i keep checking my email waiting for that "hey your baby is in a box and out the door from Dell" guess i will have to wait a couple more days, i ordered a covet w/ 320 hard drive, 12gb ram - at least the continuous post keep me calm.

Since I ordered a few days ago, my estimated ship date is not until early December. I guess I am going to get tired of the waiting as well.

Please correct me if I am wrong. From the posts here regarding the M6400, the machine seems to have less issues than the M4400. Is that a good assumption or is it just a matter of there not being a lot of units out there yet?

Is the default 160GB hard drive for the M6400 Covet worth keeping? I am thinking about putting in RAID with another 160GB drive, as I don't need a huge amount of disk space.

Is it better to get a new pair or can I just add another 160GB 7200RPM?

Yeah, its getting a bit ridiculous, I check every day and nothing. Oh except for an automated once-a-week I'm-keeping-my-eye-on-your-order email from someone that doesn't respond to replies.

I'm planning on the 2nd 160 7200 HD for Raid too yeah. If this thing ever shows up. What takes them so long on this? I had my XPS desktop within a week and that was in Australia.

    Ordered mine 11/3
    Estimated ship date 11/25
    Will arrive - who knows?

You ordered yours 11 days before me -- yet my ship estimated ship date was 2 days before yours -- you are getting yours -- I'm still waiting

Is there any logic in this? Me thinks NOT.

i wonder if it matters if you are a govt employee/school/ or business that does a lot of purchases w/Dell. there has to be some connection, i cannot believe for ex: Stef@n gets his before me, and ordered mine a day before he did. Though his ship date was a week later than mine. bummer for me!

We are Premier Dell customers. Maybe that makes a difference?
But I guess it has something to do with the options you order.
Some options (e.g specific wireless card) might delay the shipment.
