I heard/read you can possibly do it if you have the touchscreen version.

Can you give a link to this information? Or can you explain why such a requirement for m6800?

Guys, what's the difference between SLB1 and the rest ...SLB4? Were those the only RGBLED panels used in 6600/6700?

Those are used in HP dreamcolor. Dell only used slb1 iirc.

Thanks! I have the M6800 and HWinfo reports Chi Mei panel connected to the display port, and there are in fact eDP panels (6-bit, dual lane eDP). Was wondering if it is possible to install the IPS panel. Though, even if it is possible electrically, BIOS/Video card might refuse to work with it.
SLB3 is listed with contrast ratio of 800, was wondering what if...
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The rgb is 50pin, new edp is 30pin. I am unsure if the connector fit. The rgb needed interposer, so thing get a little complicated.

Yes, my hopes are for the chance of having eDP on the motherboard, though some said it doesn't have it? Problem splits into two: electric/mechanical compatibility between m6700 and 6800 (like screen housing, eDP on motherboard) and bios.

Oh, the 50pin cable is LVDS from interposer that converts it from the edp off the mb.

Has anyone done this with the m6800? I assume the interposer takes eDP as input, and outputs LVDS? Are there any issues with mounting this display (plus RGB bracket) in the m6800 chassis?

I got an m6800 recently and I love it so far, except for the screen, which is okay but not that great. Yesterday I used a Thinkpad W520 for a bit with the wide gamut 1080p display, and it got me thinking about upgrading my m6800 :p
