It's not just the Vostro line, in the UK they don't even offer 14" Inspiron and Studio either...oh how I wish they would've had the 14z over here. :(

And it's not only Dell. 14" Lenovo are harder to get in Europe too. :(

Does anyone know how to get to the processor?
I took delivery of a Vostro 3500 yesterday evening and id like to remove the cheap thermal paste and replace it with IC Diamond 7 but it seems like the only way i can get to it is by stripping the whole thing down!
Ive removed all the screws from underneath but it wont budge :(
    Anyone have any pointers?

There appears to be an update bios on the support.dell.com web page. Anyone tried this or know what it offers?

Can anyone confirm the presence of a SIM slot for WWAN cards on the Vostro 3400?

Theres one on a 3500 underneath the battery, might possibly be one on a 3400 as well in the same place.

Bios update is for Intel K0 support.

Dell's site says the case is aluminum. Lots of people say the case is "all plastic".

Which is it? and why do people say it's "all plastic" if the case is aluminum or why does dell claim it's an "aluminum case" if the case is plastic?

The lid is aluminum, the rest of the body is plastic. It's just marketing, technically Dell is correct is saying the case is aluminum, it's up to the consumer to find out exactly how much there is (in this case, not that much). It's a cheap tactic in my opinion, but all manufacturer's do it.

It's the same thing with the V13.
