I got the 3400 without the illuminated keyboard. I'm waiting on ebay to list one (soon I hope). Does anyone think it is plug n play (as far as the illumination goes?

Well, to make a long story short - the vostro was returned. The keyboard and the back of the display was an issue, but something I could live with. However the thing that really "shocked me" was the voltage I was getting when having the laptop off, but plugged in and feeling the back of the LCD cover. The same thing with the sides as well. It was a interesting feeling, and hope its not an issue with other units as well.

I wonder is the display good enough to do photo editing...
By the way, is the GPU processing power on board the CPU similar as the geForce 310M? I heard there are improvement about Intel graphics.

I used whatever came with the unit, and I believe it was grounded.

    according to notebookcheck
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Graphics-Media-Accelerator-HD.23065.0.html

the intel GMA for the I3-i7 arrendale is in the middle of class 3 while the 310 is the top of the Class 3 Graphics. thus i would say the intigrate would not be as good but probably better than any other intel graphics card.
