first of all, don't use the drivers from dell's site for intel, use the intel ones directly. they will not give this error. in the alternative, if you do want to use those drivers, just run dpinst64 (or presumably dpinst32) in the drivers folder directly. do not bother with the setup program if you just want the drivers.

as for the touchpad driver ... it should install fine. (installed fine for me). you may have to delete your other drivers first.

I just installed W 7. my performance index is 5.7, 5.5, 3.7, 4.9, 5.8. right out of the box. So I guess the early posts about low HDD index score were in the previous build. I have the RC 7100

I have a BT mouse and it works fine but the vertical scrolling doesn't work.

Slide off the wifi switch, and slide it back on again. It will restart BT service, and you will have the scrolling function back.

no luck. Also the pointer is slow even if it's set at max speed. I am using the same drivers but the mouse doesn't show up anywhere in the device manager. Also the services for the mouse are running but there is no icon in the tray. I also tried to run it in compt mode.

I had to install the BT application from dell. I wish I could do without it but it seems it's the only way to make everything work.

Well, in my case, when the laptop wakes from sleep, I usually lose the scrolling function on my Dell BT mouse. Sliding the wifi switch off and on fixes that. Also, if I were to reboot, that function always works. Apparently you have a different problem. Have you installed the mouse driver/software?
