yes, thank god someone else was seeing that. starting to think i might be losing it :p. in all seriousness, it probably is a driver issue. it doesn't always happen though for me. i've been trying to pinpoint the cause.

and i am using the same setup. win7x64 + 195.39. i should qualify that i am using them from lv2go.com rather than straight from nvidia.

    ferris? what about you?

I have a strange problem with my E6400. In my laboratory I use wireless connection with manual IP settings. At home, I run DHCP on cable. Now, every time I come to the laboratory the manual settings for the Default Gateway are lost. To make this clear: if I enter the adapter properties of the wireless network card all manual settings are there (as they should be) - except the four spaces for the Default Gateway are empty.
Obviously, my connection doesn't work. So every time I have to type in the Default Gateway again before I can access the Internet/network in my lab.
I run Windows 7 64bit and have the Intel WiFi 5100 network card.
I tried to google this problem but couldn't really find something like this. Does anybody have an idea how to solve this?

have you tried entering it under the "Alternate Configuration" dialogue that is an option on the TCP/IP v4 under the adapter properties? this should work. let me know if you need help. (feel free to rep up if it works for ya)

I'm using whatever Dell has on their drivers page for Windows 7, I'm certain you all have a more updated version. I do feel better that I wasn't the only one, I was pretty sure it was a driver thing and, as a couple have already stated, at least it isn't crashing the system.

I can only input an alternate configuration if I use DHCP as normal configuration. Is this what you mean?

yes. if i understood you correctly, when you are at home you are using DHCP, correct? just set the alt config to your lab/office settings.

The thing is that I don't use the same network connection for home/lab. Home is RJ45 connection, lab is wireless.

You can set fixed IPs for LAN & WLAN (& eg. your network printer etc.) for each profile!

you shouldn't have any problem then setting the wireless connection to use your specified gateways in the advanced properties. I used to do this all the time and had no issue. please let me know if you need help setting it.
