on an entirely unrelated note, to anyone who is using the 195.39 drivers from nvidia, do you notice any DPC latency problems (e.g., audio-drop out, etc)? When I (in aero mode), alt tab between windows, and it ramps the gpu up, I get audio drop out with these drivers.

NOTE/EDIT: I can confirm that the problem has to do with powermizer. If I disable powermizer with GB's tool, the problem goes away. (note, this still isn't a great fix, as i'd prefer that the gpu still downclocked when not being used.)

I am having an issue where my video actually goes black for about 3 to 5 seconds whenever I unplug or plug in the AC power supply. Is this normal?

I have the integrated Intel video and I'm running the Microsoft supplied "Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family" video driver version 8.15.10.1872

I started to install the video driver from Dell's website, but noticed it is an earlier version (8.15.10.1855) so I assume I would be better off staying with the newer driver.

    Thanks in advance

That is because you used the scroll or zoom on your touchpad.. It's a stupid bug in the Apls touchpad/trackpad drivers that was NEVER fixed (even under Vista) and ignored by Dell. However, I have a fix. I have attacked it. I found this a tutorial fix on a this forum, but can't recall who did it.

Just extract the file, and double click on it. It's a registry script. It's basically the tutorial done for you. When you run this .reg file, it will edit the registry (the location of the Dell touchpad drivers) to fix your problem. I highly recommend to create a system restore point BEFORE running this script, just in case something bad occurs, you can undo the bad effect- Use at your own risk, You can view the script by loading the file in Notepad.

Basically, what it does, is that it removes the custom scrolling/zoming cursor of the touchpad and pointing stick drivers. This is how this workaround works.

btw, for all those who were unable to properly adjust the brightness of the machine using win7, that was a driver problem, and is solved by nvidia drivers 195.39.
