Well Im not a big company like that and Im past 21 days. I guess I'm screwed or demoted to constant motherboard replacements under warranty til Dell decides to do something about this.

Hey RAM.....its 30 days for the 'business' systems from the invoice date. Mine's going back. the tech came...replaced the motherboard...still up to its evil antics.....the tech managed to knick, scratch and not seat the palm rest properly......

    I'm past 2 months...

& I despise those technicians. Im afraid to call Dell to ask for another motherboard replace cause I feel theyll send me another BS technician. The last one they sent to replace the speakers did not know how to open the system.

Best part about the tech that came to replace mine was that he said he was a server tech and the notebook techs were overloaded with repairs so he had to fill in. He said he hadn't done notebooks in a long time. Took him half and hour to figure out how to take it apart...thats after all the knicks and scratches were put in....Now the problem still persists and the palmrest is not seated right, both front corners are warped upwards the middle section near the latch is sticking out....he couldn't fix it because he was late for another appointment

Sounds like BS to me,the tech I talked to repaired everyhing, its not like they're repairing Porsche's or something with thousands of components and multiple specialised ECU's,that they need to be focussed into one area of pc or server repair, thats just laughable.
I guess pc techs are just like every other profession......good ones and bad ones, and if a repairman came and messed up mine like your one did,he wouldn't be going anywhere until he'd fixed it,or made some calls to order the parts he'd just scratched etc.

You can come on a forum and bleat on and on about it all you like, but if you accept shoddy workmanship, there's no one to blame but yourself....same with you I*RAM.....you haven't got a choice but to use dell for your repairs, and as unfortunate as it is,there is always a risk that it won't fix your issues.....thats just the way it is,as long as dell are prepared to replace parts or systems to try and fix your issues, you don't have a leg to stand on....at least until the three strikes/refund policy,or whatever your local consumer rights law denotes.

I know its a pain to have to go through this with your new notebook, but come on,stop procrastinating, and do something about it.

edit...maybe you guys could contact Dell-Bill B posting in this thread and he can hold your hands through your issues/repairs or repair issues.http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=308562&page=5

    Dear Mr Weegie,

Theres nothing to fix when the flimsy plastic palm rest and chassis are scratched and knicked from prying with a screw driver. The only option was another system exchange or a return....whats the point making him sit around trying to reseat everything.

No need to get your panties in a bunch my friend. We're just all here comparing experiences....

so sit back...relax.....go have an ice cold one with your tech who 'does everything'..... AND post your negativity elsewhere

I am not experiencing any lock ups with mine. I even replaced the first led lcd myself since i asked for one due to having a dead pixel after 6 days on an LG model, asked for a samsung but still got an LG .... at least there's no dead pixels now.

    Dear Mr Viper....
Hahaha negativity?....you have 4 posts on this forum, and gee whiz.....they're all negative....ever heard the saying "pot calling the kettle black"?

If you were given a refund, whats the problem?....go and buy a lenovo or HP and live happily ever after.

I had one POS XPS M1730 and was refunded...big deal,I was REFUNDED,the next one was perfect, such is life with electronics, whatever brand they are.

I'm very relaxed thanks Mr V,I have no problems with my notebook at this stage, and definitely won't be letting a "server tech" anywhere near it.

Yo see the problem with you Mr is that a group of people here are trying to discuss issues that WE have...and you jump in and give your worthless remarks. Go stare at a poster of Mark Webber or Possum Bourne. It might be a bit more productive than you trying to ignite fires around here...

I don't see how trying to convince I*Ram that dell is his best option,is worthless. You have a refund for yours, chimera has his three refunded,Ram has had his a lot longer and has no option but to go through the process of repair or replacement until those avenues have been exhausted, thats why I mentioned the Dell rep in the above thread.....procrastinating about it here is doing nothing.

All you've done is reinforce his concerns about Dell technicians,by the fact you were naive enough to stand there and watch a struggling second rate tech trash your notebook and then accept his other appointment and server tech excuse.

@I*RAM,hopefully you haven't taken offense to my my "balls" remark,it was not meant as offensive....now I read it again,it looks a bit that way,I apologize and hope you get the assistance from dell to see you right, whether refund,replacement.......
