BIG M4400 problem: full system lockup!

    Yeah, thinking along those lines. It's been regular windows updates. Now have the laptop and will check if anything has been installed that I don't know about.
    Have latest bios - going to try that out. Switched anit-virus sw once, which seemed to have cleared up an issue. My initial concern was that it sounded like a whole bunch of people were having issues. We'll see.

    I hope Dell releases M4500 soon. I find M4400 quite problematic and after one full system replacement and motherboard replacement I'm still experiencing this very same problem plus overheating when using games...

    Rebuilt yesterday with latest bios/drivers. Was still having issues -diagnostics showed disk problems, so calling dell today with the info to get replacement. See how it goes..
