    Hi all,

I can't install my integrated webcam. After downloading the driver and opening the file installation starts and then suddenly it just ends with the message there was an error during installing.

So the thing I've done are: installing the drivers, which failed.
I've also looked in the device managemer app but could find anything of a camera.

So if anyone could give me an idea on what to do? Please.

    Thanks.

Which operating system? XP or Vista? 32-bit or 64-bit? What is the exact text of the error message? What is the name of the file you're using to install from?

I am having the same problem too with my E6400.

The error message is "An Error Occurred While Setting Up The Drive"

I just got this from my IT person who has no idea why it isnt working.

I don't get why it's not working...this driver is from the dell website!

    I have windows XP Prof.

    Any suggestions?

If my memory is correct, you first need to install the webcam driver that came on a CD with your E6400 before it is possible to install the webcam software that can be downloaded.

I had also multiple errors while installing drivers from dell.
I think it might has something to do with xp sp3 update, because
i installed sp3 before the drivers. After i did
a clean xp sp2 installation, all drivers were working. Then i installed sp3.

I might be wrong, but i think that someone posted that the e6400 is coming
with xp sp2 preinstalled from dell. Maybe thats why.

edit: i didnt install any drivers from cd.

Ziesemer, it's a clean Windows Vista Business. The 32-bit and the text of the error is just simple 'failure during installation'. No details or other information in the error message.
    The file is the following:C:\DELL\DRIVERS\CREATIVE-LABS_INTEGRATED-WEB_A03_R200491.EXE

It is the driver of the Creative Labs Integrated Webcam of the Dell Latitude E6400.

    Thanks for the reaction!

I tried to install the driver, but that's where the error occurs.

No John's probably right. Just did a clean install of Vista business last week and downloaded fresh drivers from Dell. The only thing that wasn't working was the webcam. The only way I could make it work again was installing it from the specific webcam installation CD that came with your Dell. Then upgrade the driver and applic. from the downloaded file.

I don't have a specific webcam installation cd. It wasn't included in the box. The only cd that I could use is the driver and utilities cd to install all the drivers. But maybe I need to install something else before installing the webcam driver?
Cause to be able to use the dvd burner I needed to install Intel Matrix Storage manager or something like that.

    Thanks again!
