Hi! I have the same problem as someone else where I got my laptop without the webcam installation disc. So I installed the driver for the webcam from a link posted in earlier pages. Unlike the other ones I've tried, it installed and seemed to look good. But when I open it , or ran it as admin, it says on the bottom "no support conne..." I guess this means that my lattitude e6400 can't detect the webcam? What could this mean? Or should I just try again??.. I am also using windows 7 on it. hope to hear from you soon! thanks!

The basic webcam should work (eg with Skype) without the Dell software being installed. That would be the first thing to check.

ok i have done every thing suggested i have even got my hands on the dell drivers adn utilities disk

it will not install the webcam drivers and always comes up with the same error message that every one gets

im on windows xp on a latitude e6400

im on a clean build and have tired all the various drivers on this site and from dell
as well as on the cd
this is extremely annoying and i would go as far as to say its pushing me to not recomend dell laptops to work colleages

In Device Manager do you (i) have anything listed under imaging devices or (ii) have any unknown devices?

I had this problem and tried many of the solutions listed here.

After all the trouble, I did one simple thing that worked.

I went into the Device Manager (right-click My Computer, select Properties, and it is under the Hardware tab). Under Other Devices was an unknown USB device. I right-clicked it and selected Update drivers.

    This worked.

I installed the Webcam application, then it was not working. But I just had to repeat the Update driver process, and it worked again.

("An error occurred while setting up the driver.")
