Thanks John. I'm still having a few issues though - Everything went
smoothly, except setup.inx failed to open correctly (error 2147213312)
and once the installation finished, it still wasn't working. Any
ideas? I think I did everything correctly. Thanks very much for any
    support you can give me!

Windows 7 32bit. Installed a week ago, which is when the problem started. It was working under XP, which I was using before. The webcam isn't even listed under the computer's devices.

Did you try Dell's Windows 7 webcam software (R205118)?

    The info for this says:

I read that as meaning that it will only install of the old software is already installed. If necessary, install the old software using the various tricks such as "Run as Administrator", which improves the prospects of it installing under W7. If W7 blocks the driver installation then the device won't be properly identified by device manager. Anyway, first try the newer package.

I've got a working webcam + software with W7-64 so it can be done.

One of the other recent recipients said that they had uploaded it here. Take a look.

Yes, I tried Dell's Windows 7 software. I'm at my wit's end here. Nothing I've tried has worked. Your files were the closest, but as I said, "Setup.inx" failed to run, causing error '2147213312', and causing it to not install properly. I'm about to just go out and buy a webcam....thanks for your help though.

Did you try the "Run as Administrator" for the installer?

im wondering if my IT department may have ninja'd something on our notebooks to disable it. there is no settings in the bios for it, but it does not show up in device manager, and i am unable to manually add it either. i'm sure it's not a bad camera because we have like 20 of these things. any ideas?
