Well 2X the previous version is certainly a good enough reason to upgrade (provide you would use/need that much extra horsepower). But its still remains unconfirmed how much work went into the install, and if any modifications are needed?
All that adds extra cost and complexity and needs to be specified and confirmed before I consider moving forward.

I for one wouldn't mind the extra ummph, (save the price of those Quadros ) particularly if it directed towards 4k. I'd like to see some real world performance comparisons soon. We shall see.

That is the K4000M BIOS, not the K4100M BIOS.

That's the Dell M6800 card so your best bet is to ask in the owner's thread for that model.

Hi has anyone installed Vmware Esx 5.5 or greater on the laptop. Does it take 2 2.5 hard drives and maybe a 3rd drive in a dvd caddy replacement? Thanks

If I buy a dual core m6500, m6600, m6700, m6800 etc and replace the cpu with a quad core will the 4 dimms all work.

Can't comment on VMware ESX. There is room for two 2.5" drives, and a third if you get an optical drive bay caddy. If you buy a compatible quad-core CPU and install it, you will be able to use all four DIMMs.

To me there seems to be very little difference between the 6500, 6600, 6700, 6800 especially if the video cards are upgradeable. CPU performance is not as vital in my work as long as it's a quad core. I can get 4 hard drives in an m6500 with 2 drives, a drive in the optical bay and an msata. Plus with the m6500 I get 120 extra vertical pixels, and a cheaper price. Seems the m6500 is better choice since it can do a higher resolution than the other series?

Higher resolution? Not exactly. But as you pointed out there are some obvious cost advantages. One of the long-term advantages in purchasing of a business grade notebook.
