Doubt emailing him will do anything. He probably gets tons of emails and it goes to the junk box... I know it's probably the best shot, I've even posted a few ideas and joined years ago. There is potential to be great but the reality has been disappointing thus far.

I'd say it's more likely he has a team of 2-3 secretaries that go through his email for him haha. At his level I'd imagine you never look at your own email/calendar, you have people that do that for you :D

I had to give mine a few persuasive taps to get it to fully seat.

Can someone with the newmodeUS caddy post some pictures of their caddy on the laptop? I'm interested to see whether it can be seen as a non-Dell part or if it really blends and sits flush with the laptop.

    Thanks, + rep! :)

It does look good... but what happened to the latch mechanism?

the E4300 doesn't have a latch mechanism, the optical drive is held in by a tab with a screw under the memory cover. I'm guessing they made the caddies like this so they would work in all the E series laptops

Ahh, I see. How do you feel about the general quality of it?

it is solidly built and I don't see it ever coming out even without a latch. If it somehow did ever fall out, it would be due to a serious blow to the laptop that would probably damage other parts of it. It snaps in very securely and the finish matches my black E4300 perfectly. I run a 64gb Super Talent ME SSD in the main bay and a 500gb WD BEVT in this caddy and it works great. I also purchased the optical drive cable and an external hdd esata caddy, both are very nice products. The only downside to the external hdd caddy is it is ESata only so no swapping between ESata and USB should you have a computer with no ESata.

It's a very nice product in my book.

One thing: I double-checked on www.newmodeus.com and the caddy I looked at DOES have a latch and it is meant for the E6400, E6500, M2400 and M4400. It is not meant for the E4300. Are you sure you are using the same caddy I mentioned? I was talking about this one.
