    In the properties for the drive I believe there is a choice for quick removal or not. Also there is a choice for having the stop the dvd so it's ok to remove icon show on the task bar. Don't ask me how to do it I forget. It's been a while but I stumbled on how to do it somewhere. Maybe at Windows 7 forums. There are lot's of tips like that there.
