Ditto for me. I have the Z600 with two internal SSD's. Can't get the raid 0 option. I'll come back if I get it figured out, although it's looking unlikely.

I just ordered OCZ Vertex 60GB and was planning to use it in the modular bay via NewModeUS caddy but noticed that the OCZ is probably a little thicker than the 9.5mm clearance of the modular bay. Has anyone actually tried using this OCZ in the NewModeUS caddy?

I would have expected all the 2.5" SSDs to comply with the standard 9.5mm thickness, otherwise people would have problems replacing their HDDs.

If the NewModeUS caddy can hold a 9.5mm thick HDD then it can hold a 9.5mm thick SSD. In reality, the media bay opening is slightly more than 9.5mm.

Yes, it fits fine. But I end up putting it as primary HD and moved the factory installed WD Scorpio to the optical bay which was infact a little thicker than the SSD but still fits. NewModUS caddy works like a charm! Very satisfied with OCZ though Win7 still take like 17 seconds to boot up :(

Oh now i get this Intel Raid Controller message right after BIOS screen saying no RAID configured, Press Ctrl+I to configure and it lists both drives - it stays there for a couple of second before proceeding to boot from primary drive (SSD). Does anyone know how can i get rid of it, don't want to run my drives in RAID.

I suspect that the HDD access mode is set to IRRT in the BIOS. You can try changing to AHCI, but Windows may then not want to boot in which case this thread might help (but is not written with Windows 7 in mind).

    Hi

I just got a caddy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220442959679&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT and a 500GB SATA HD http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170423418859&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT for my M4400. I put it in but it doesnt show up in "My Computer". It does show up in Bios.

I can hear its on so it should be getting power and Bios sees it. Also the first time I plugged it in Windows (Vista 64-bit) installed some drivers for it.

Im not sure if I can see the HD in device manager. I dont recognice it at least there.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Sami

anybody have another source for the ESata to Dell cdrom combo cables? I need a few more and they aren't listed on the Newmodeus site anymore.
