An update. I pre ordered a Media Bay Hard Drive Caddy for the 6520 from New Mode. A little pricey around $48 but I want one. Also the have a Utube video out showing how to install the Hdd into it and then into the 6520. Funny they have one for the video and not in stock yet.

The NewModus drive caddy works fine. Same fit as OEM but takes 9mm as well.

Yes it does. It is designed so you just slide the HDD caddy into place to install. To remove you push on a square button in the bezel face and it will release the lock. Then you can pull it out.

Hi brothers and sisters of this topic,

Will any 9.5" caddy work for Precision m4600. Newmodeus caddy are ripoff if we know all such caddy come from same china factory.

I have to chuckle at this a bit because, sure, no kidding they are made in china...but what makes it a ripoff? Have you looked at the cheaper options out there? They are cheap plastic. Is that going to hold up to heat? There are some where the drive doesn't even screw mount to the caddy, its just "held" in place!

Show me someone selling a comparable product, solidly made, has a bezel to match the exterior shape of the model, and for cheaper, than we can call newmode a ripoff. I don't think you will find it for Latitudes or Precisions. I'm happy with mine, and no I don't work for them.

That's surprising to hear, I should clarify my above comment that I don't have a Precision model, I am of speaking of fit in the Latitude 6400 which is great, I will have feedback on the 6520 soon.

I just put in an hdd in place of the optical drive in my E6410. My question is, are the drives hot-swappable? Can I replace the HDD for the Optical drive without tuning off the system?
