How to order a brand new E6400 with the Intel SSD? I couldn't find such an option on the Dell customization page

Did you try phoning? Alternatively, and more guaranteed to get the SSD you want (Dell may multi-source the SSDs, as they do with the HDDs), is to order the computer with the cheapest HDD option and buy the SSD separately. Then clone the supplied HDD onto the SSD and keep the HDD as a backup. Once cloned, swapping the HDD / SSD takes less than 5 minutes.

Hey guys, new member here. They have the Latitudes at Dell Outlet for cheap right now, so I ordered myself a refurbed e6400. Question though before it arrives, for anyone who's tried. I've been (and still am) debating between this and a Macbook Pro (found a way to get them cheaper, but still $400 more than the e6400)... I noticed on benchmarks that the e6400 graphics card (the Quadro NVS 160) comes in at about half of the MBP card.

Question is, I'd be wanting to use it for doing work in Lightroom and Photoshop. Anyone have experience with that, and how smooth/choppy that is? Rough specs are my system are a T9400 proc, Quadro NVS 160M, 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz (2 DIMMs), and 160 GB 7200 RPM HD. Thanks!

i would strongly suggest spending a few bucks and get aftermarket RAM of at least 4GB (if you look back through the forum, I pointed out some specific ones, but if you need help, let me know. Order the absolutely cheapest option for ram through dell, they sell sub-par ram at bloated prices :)

Well, I've updated the Bios to A11 and after restart the bass was non-existent again (with the plug in the laptop). Switch to the dock and it came alive :)

I have the new audio driver (A05) but I am still at BIOS A09 and sometimes there is bass on the headphones outlet in the docking station and sometimes there isn't when the internal PC speaker is switched on. Unlugging the speaker/headphones cable and plugging it in again fixes the bass problem. It seems that the headphones detection doesn't work properly with even with the new driver. How hard can it be to fix this problem properly?!

    Another BSOD - 0x0000008e

    CI.dll as the error.

Ran memtest86 and came up with four errors.

Rang Dell and they believe changing the motherboard will fix things (and will bring spare ram as backup).

Hmm... people's opinions? This is my third service call and the second one for bad RAM and BSOD.

Can anyone here help me understand what is the difference between a 1x2 a/g/n wireless card and a 3x3 a/g/n wireless card? It is the only choice I am unsure about when buying this laptop.

I suppose it is related to the number of antennae (the n standard uses multiple antennae IIRC), but will it make a big difference? Worth 37€?

I bought the Intel X25-M and the 4GB upgrade third-party. It's not (as far as I know) an option through Dell itself.
