Remember that that particular card is roughly the equivalent of the 9300 or 9400 GeForce. So it isn't much of a card to begin with.

Also, the processor will only run at full speed when it is stressed. It lowers the clock speed when it isn't under load.

Isn't the processor speed also dependant on which power plan you're using? I'm using High performance right now and my reported speed equals the expected speed.

High performance locks the processor at 100% clock, balanced allows the SpeedStep to work and the clock speed to fluctuate. I believe that power saver by default underclocks the processor.

You can change any of those setting easily. I would use balanced. Don't worry, you got what you paid for.

If anyone else cares about this, I have found you have to install ControlPoint Connection Manager to activate the GPS function. Once that is done, Microsoft Streets & Trips 2009 will interface nicely with it.

I have an E6400 for about a month now. I installed a dual-boot for Vista and XP. So far I have used only XP.

In terms of gaming, the 160m is laggy indeed. Probably due to how the quadro cards try to render the best quality in comparison to the gaming Geforce cards. My solution is to use the 9300M GS driver at www-laptopvideo2go-com (please replace the dashes with dots as I cannot post urls). For added measure, I overclocked the GPU memory from 400 to 500 MHz with nTune as well. My processor is a P8400 and managed to get a 3dMark06 of 1857. Your T9500 should do much better in terms of 3dMark.

Does the LED keyboard has spill-resistant for E6400?

I don't recall that Dell claims that the keyboard is spill resistant and I have no plan to test it.

However, the keyboard is not full of holes (see the attached bottom view) so a small amount of liquid should not go straight through to the electronics below, but the liquid may mess up the keyboard itself, particularly if it is a drink containing sugar.

    Hello all,

I have my Latiture E6400 which I love very much. However the trackpad driver is TERRIBLE, it keeps locking the mouse for a few seconds after login, blocks cursor animation from playing, and every now and then is mouse doesn't move for a few seconds. I was wondering if anyone know any alternative drivers for this trackpad under Vista 64-bit.

Right now I use it without the driver, it's kinda annoying as the max speed set for the mouse cursor is not fast enough for the trackpad, and I of course don't have the scrolling functions.
