That's what I thought but wanted to run through the experts. Do you see that in your logs as well?

BTW, I got the backlit keyboard and installed it today and you are right its absolutely worth spending $18 and the seller is very fast.

Probably normal operation. I've not had my hands on my E-Series laptops long enough to discover this behavior... my units belong to other users. Review the BIOS (F2 at boot) for relevant cpu or power management settings. Review control panel power profiles for similar settings. I would not be quick to alter settings to troubleshoot if its not really any trouble.

Apparently, there is normal cpu throttling, and some abnormal cpu throttling you can read about around here that has affected some.

I'm curious, how would either keyboard handle a spilled drink, either a splash or a full drenching? Hopefully a splash would be contained enough that you could clean it out and carry on. Is there some threshold beyond which the inards are soaked and you're facing a major overhaul?

Hi Copyright, Were ever able to find the root cause of the above as I see the same in my system logs.

    Thanks!

Here are the undersides of both the keyboards. The white one is the backlit.

Given the area beneath the keyboard has limited holes, most of them in the center, and the keyboard would let the liquid in from the sides, I would say the chances of salvaging the situation are not too bad. Unless of course your laptop is flooded by a large quantity of liquids.

Hi Fellow owners, sorry I am asking this again. I installed fresh copy of windows because I am having issues with DVD drivers, the drive disappears after reboot and the DVD driver gets disabled by itself.

After the os install I started monitoring event viewer to find any drivers related issues. Every time I start/reboot the system I get the following warning in the log.

"The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_01\7&66de6c9&0&0001."

Can a fellow owner check the logs to see if this occurs please! Also any idea what might be the issue?

EDIT: I am on call with Dell support and they have no clue about this issue.

    Thanks!

Some times it does and sometimes I have to restart and then re-enable the driver.

It sounds like the hardware is not being recognized, but then re-enabling the driver works. Would be convenient if you could swap out the drive for another drive to test this response... troubleshooting 101.

I've got a few of the same with my E6410. There are 4 entries, one for each thread of each core. I have encountered an instance of CPU throttling but there was no message in the System log at about the time it occurred.
