I am not sure I am on the right page on the Dell website. I see the driver downloads but I don't think the site knows what drivers my machine has. I see a page with my original system configuration and I can let the site look at my computer and give me the new configuration but I don't see anything about a "Re-Image guide". The profiler shows my driver upgrades in the new configuration. Seems like there should be a way after the site has profiled my system configuration for it to tell me what other drivers are recommended but I don't see anything like that.

BTW, the website profile shows my 4000 video card.

The website isn't going to know what drivers are installed, but it will show you what your computer has in it, and allow you to download all of the necessary drivers for your machine.

Once the system has your service tag or knows your system, it should show you available downloads. Make sure you select the tab "all downloads for Precision M6600" and select your OS. There are currently 56 downloads for windows 7x64. The re-image guide is listed under "system utilities."

Unfortunately, if you don't know what drivers you installed, or installed in the wrong order, your best bet would be to start over with installing windows and the driver packs in the correct order.

The re-image guide is general to all E-Series laptops, so it lists some extra drivers that the M6600 may or may not need. I know I have seen a specific list of drivers and the order for the M6600 on this forum, but I just searched and couldn't find it. Hopefully someone else can point you in the right direction.

Honestly, I think I am just going to let it be. I found the re-image file. Its just too complicated and there are so many drivers to load. How do you know which ones are applicable. I am not about to reinstall windows and all my software and other files.

I have figured out what I installed and the order.

    1. Bios upgrade to AO7 from AO4
    2. Intel_Chipset-Software-Insta_A04_R304291.exe
    3. nVidia_multi-device_A02_R310801.exe (156MB)

I am just going to hope my video card and everything else is functioning properly. I'd hate to know I am not getting full benefit of my video card after what I paid for it.

    Thanks for the help,

HWInfo64 will only detect both GPU's if you open HWINFO64 while the nvidia card is "on". Open a program that uses the nvidia GPU and relaunch HWINFO64 and you will have GPU #0 *& GPU #1 to select.

The Optimus Test Tools will tell you if the nvidia GPU is on or off.

    Hello again.

I have got a mSSD 128GB Samsung drive and HDD 750GB drive in my M6600. I want to buy another 750GB Seagate drive and do RAID 0 ( mSSD for OS and 2x750GB for storage ). I've read that Seagate ST9750420AS are Advanced Format drive ( 4K sectors ). So does anybody knows what strip size should i choose for RAID 0 ? Or maybe with RAID 0 it is not important if the drive is Advanced Format ( 4K ) or the old system ( 512 ) ?

I'm not sure what the choices are, but anything that is an even multiple of 4K (and thus not less than 4K) would be fine.
