    1. From start. Type "cmd" at the run prompt. The Win-7 search will show cmd - command prompt at the Start menu.

    2. Right click on "cmd" and select run as administrator.

    3. Type in winsat mem at the "command prompt" window.

I just ran it on mine and got 16870.

    I have cheap chips RAM from Amazon which works perfectly - got 2x 8GB chips for £95 inc delivery (Komputerbay 16GB (2x 8GB) PC3-10600 10666 1333MHz SODIMM 204-Pin Laptop Memory 9-9-9-25: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories)

I have 24GB total, those two 8GB chips and the 2x 4GB chips shipped from Dell.

EDIT - Oh I probably shouldn't have run it with a full desktop, Warcraft running in the background and 10x VMs running.... but hey, I'm happy with that score :)

Thought I would take three samples for you. The first result is above, namely:

    1)
    Run Time: 00:00:05.18
    Memory Performance: 18409.75 MB/s
    Total Run Time: 00:00:09.20

    2)
    Run Time: 00:00:05.18
    Memory Performance: 17097.41 MB/s
    Total Run Time: 00:00:08.94

    3)
    Run Time: 00:00:05.20
    Memory Performance: 21215.65 MB/s
    Total Run Time: 00:00:09.19

No programmes were closed or opened or anything for each of the tests. This is with 12GB RAM not 16GB as it states in sig (4GB were faulty and had to be removed).

I took a screen shot of the results if you want that too.

Hmmm average is 12,000 MB/s increased boost in throughput.

I guess it's worth it. Super hassle when buying computer parts/upgrades from US to Malaysia. Amazon don't deliver unless sign up for MyUS.com - MyUS.com - Top Rated Package and Mail Forwarding (freight forwarding)

Adding up all the costs the price is almost the same as buying it from retailers in Malaysia.

Take note, the Hyper-X PnP is manufactured in Taiwan - very near to Malaysia.

    I found a distributor (only 3 in Malaysia including Ingram Micro). Total 2x8GB will cost about RM658 = USD220 (exchange rate 2.99 - 3.04)

    Amazon Price = USD68.99 x 2 = USD137.98 + USD10 (myus.com one time registration) + USD30 (estimate shipping from US to Malaysia) = USD177.98

    http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Modu...ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1330512644&sr=1-1

This means Malaysia is 20% more expensive ! With a location to ship from Taiwan that is much much nearer and constant trade from Taiwan + Malaysia.

Did the math for the distributor. The distributor's excuse is the government custom's tax for import add on. Which I already wrote an email to the custom's office department, which the custom's department replied on the same day. Saying that computer components (fnished goods) has is tax free in Malaysia when importing.

This is the main greed problem with the backward approach to the ICT market in Malaysia which is controlled by distributors. One of the main reason why I go for Dell !

To be honest, you can never find high-end tech stuffs here in Malaysia. Even with Pc-fair, they only have booths and booths of digital junk and 90% of the booths all sell the same junk. If you are in the region, just pop by Singapore. It's a world of difference. I always say this country is like 8 years behind time.

If only manufacturers read this blog and start nudging their distributors here in Malaysia or better still get rid of them.

how did you get 12,000 extra? surely you were getting 17k, I was getting as close to 17k as makes no difference and the chap with 1600Mhz gets between 17k and 21k?

I make that a potential max range increase of 4k? Or have I just not had my Coffee yet today ;)

You may be better off getting them from Singapore or HK. I got mine in UK while I was there on business.

Seems the MB/s increases as the computer warms up. My last three attempts were:

    1) 21065.65
    2) 21194.44
    3) 19794.39

There may be someone here that would be willing to sell them their RAM. I know I would prefer to get the 1866 to see how they go.
