My machine shows the Integrated Webcam attached to Port 5 Hub 3. However my webcam works fine with the default W7 drivers. We likely have some slightly different hardware so the location may not be the same. What hardware do you have that isn't being shown in device manager? Smart card reader, Fingerprint sensor, Web cam, bluetooth, touch screen, ect

Try to identify the device knowing its vendor and device id's.
Knowing this will be easy to download and install the missing.
How to do it, for example here:

    Best regards,
    Alex.

Those of you who successfully run 32GB of 1600 MHz RAM on their M6600, please advise on the best modules to buy.

    TIA.

I've been having a dig around to see if I can find a good guide on this..

I can't seem to find out whether I can use the smartcard reader to unlock my computer (in this case, Windows 7), or whether I can only use the fingerprint reader.

Does anyone recommend a full reload when you get it? I seem to find that a lot of the system bloatware is getting in the way.. my Fingerprint reader doesn't work right.

On another note.. the touchscreen at random intervals makes a touch at at the same point on the screen about once an hour. Could this be a software issue or may my screen be damaged? My webcam also disconnects randomly, and becomes an unknown USB device. Have not tested in Linux properly, so unsure whether it is a sofware issue.. not sure whether I should contact Dell (have ProSupport).

I prefer to do a full reinstall myself. To get the fingerprint reader working without all the dell crap see here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...0712-m6600-owners-thread-359.html#post8300821

Try running the "Touch Tuning" in the N-trig DuoSense Digitizer Settings software. This will calibrate your touch screen to its surroundings (ie ignore touches from the bezel and such). The touch calibration where you touch the screen simply orients the touch screen to the display and won't help with the phantom touches. If that doesn't fix it it is likely a hardware issue. I had to send a couple machines back due to phantom touches. They started out as a once and a while thing but grew to the point where you couldn't operate the machine as it was constantly receiving a click.

I would also recommend you use the drivers from the n-trig website (Google it). They are newer than dell's drivers (even dell's from a few weeks ago) and resolve a few issues that crop up when using software which utilizes the pressure sensitive features of the touch screen.

The best will be those with the lowest CL.

But it's hard to find module 8 GB 1600MHz with CL lower than 11.

That thread was in no way related to the IPS panels.

I just re-installed Win 7 Pro, what drivers do I need to get the Volume and Screen Brightness to show on screen when I adjusted them?
