I plan on upgrading my 1600 x 900 display to full hd. I intend to buy a B173hw01 v.4 display. I am trying to verify if this is a 40 pin or 50 pin connector. I have found conflicting info on vendor sites. I have a 3000m card if it matters.

The FHD display (on dell.com it is indicated as
17.3" UltraSharp™ FHD(1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED-backlit with Premium Panel Guarantee) is 40 pin. IPS RGB LCD (LP173WF3(SL)(B1)) is 50 pin.

I'm trying to find a M6600 with a IPS screen. I'm guessing that the wording would be: Wide View Anti-Glare RGB LED Back-Lit Display? Or did this model have a RGB type display that wasn't IPS?

Just recived my m6600, going to do a CPU drop i5 -> i7. Can I sell my i5 and keep the warranty? The machine still have 2 year warranty ~~.

As long as nothing is damaged in the process of swapping processors and the proper heatsink is used, your warranty will be fine. However, Dell will never replace the i7 [third party] CPU since that part would obviously not be warranted through them. They will only cover the items purchased with/in the new system.

    Typically...

    On system configurations, it reads:
    69WVR Module,Liquid Crystal Display,17.3FHD,Red/Green/Blue,Legend,M6600

On the final system and/or individual parts receipt, it reads:
    4259G Liquid Crystal Display,17.3FHD,RGBLE,Low Voltage Differential Signaling,AG,Z,Length/Long

As others mention, just look for the "RGB".

    Thanks for the info.

As it turns out there is a 40% coupon for the M6600 in the Small Business area so I ended up ordering a new one.
