That depends on the operating system that came with your M6800.

COA stickers are not supplied with Windows 8 OEM anymore. The key is stored in the TPM and Windows 8 is automatically activated as soon as it detects an active internet connection.

If you orderd your M6800 with Windows 7, there should be a COA sticker in the battery compartment.

As far as I know, you can't install a wifi card in the WWAN slot of the M6700 and M6800. Or did you mean the WLAN slot?

I installed a full-size mPCIe wifi card in the WWAN slot of my M6700 and it worked fine. (This was for testing when I was having an issue with the Intel WiFi card, I don't have it installed anymore.)

Good to know. Thanks for the tip.

What you have is a Windows 8 OEM license downgraded to Windows 7. In this case, you won't find a COA sticker in the battery compartment.

There should be a small Windows 8 logo sticker on the laptop.

Quick question. Please tell me where is the Bluetooth module for the m6800? If I choose to go with a 3x3 wifi card such as the intel 6300 what is my solution to getting Bluetooth? On the m6700 the Bluetooth module was a separate one in the form of dell 380. Is it the same with the m6800? Reading the service manual and I can not get any mention of it.

    Ok, thanks.

Now to figure out why it doesn't work on the m6800...

You can't use the Dell Wireless 380 in the M6800.

The M6700's motherboard has a special header to connect the Dell Wireless 380 to, which is not present on the M6800's motherboard.

    Your alternatives are:
    1. A Wifi + BT combo card (like the Dell Wireless 1550 or Intel AC 7260).
    2. A dedicated mini PCIe BT card (like the Dell Wireless 370).
    3. A USB BT dongle (like the Sitecom CN-524 or Asus USB-BT400).
    4. An ExpressCard module with BT (if you can find one).

Thank you for your reply. Are you aware of any 3x3 +BT WiFi cards? The only notebook that has something like this is the Macbook Pro Retina but that is a proprietary format so ....

I've searched the net for one, but couldn't find any, unfortunately...

I also couldn't find an 802.11ac wifi + WiGig + BT combo card.

Nor a 3x3 802.11ac card, for that matter.
