Is USB 3.0 really a priority for a thin and light notebook? I'd prefer to shave off half a pound vs. having a USB 3.0 port.

Backlight keyboard and better battery would be higher priorities. :p

Yeah, I'll soon buy a new HD, and a USB 3.0 HD isn't much more expensive than a USB 2.0 HD. I also want to buy one of those (also inexpensive) USB 3.0 keys: It currently takes me half an hour each time I update the content of the USB 2.0 key I use to carry my work. (I seldom need to carry the computer itself.)

    If I didn't care about USB 3.0, I'd get a MacBook Air.

Well I hope the US pricing reflects Poland's because apparently they get a nice configuration for 400 new. If the Vostro V131 was the 700-800 range the V130 ULV Arrandale processors were, I'd opt for a Macbook Air as it is only 200 bucks more and is truly a wonder how they make it so thin and light and still has decent battery life.

Its put on weight! (Looks a lot thicker) And lost the good feature of the ports located on the rear! And gone for a chicklet keyboard :-(

Yep, because it comes with a 6cell battery but that's a trade off I can take. I assume there will be option for a 4cell too. The chicklet keyboard really sucks and this glossy surface between the keys is really gross.

The V13/V130 was an interesting (good) peice of industrial design, now it looks like a lot of the other generic laptops

It still looks a little better than average, and is quite compact, but ... yeah, it is neither as good looking nor as practical (there are ports where I put my mouse; I don't want cables there) as the V130. :(

well, yeah, instead of an expected refresh of the insides they re-worked it into a different (worse) looking piece of ... uhm ... machine

Ehh...that is hardly thin anymore. I guess thin isn't an ultra high priority, but how heavy is it? Also chicklet keys are gross, the only ones I find okay are Apple ones and Lenovo's Edge (still prefer traditional keyboard layout).
