    Havoctex:

thank you for taking the time to help us out out here on the forum.

I just canceled my order today due to the change in the USB 3.0 and the mini ssd option. I still plan on purchaseing this system but will need to do it prior to the end of the month in order to be able to afford it. Should I just put my order back in and get the upgraded sister board or will I be able to get the new options before the end of the month?

    thanks again for your time.

Here is the calibration with Spyder3Elite 3.1.4.
    On the Samsung Display.
    Using AdobeRGB Control Point Profile.
5 Brightness steps down from max, using the color meters ambient light detection for optimal settings.

Its really not all that bad. I did not change anything with Nvidia drivers.

I am seriously thinking about taking a break from posting here. I am so tired of seeing the things I post blown out of proportion.

Most of the issues that I had are now resolved. Even then, the issues with the machine were minor compared to what the M6500 got right. The problem is that I can't mention a minor issue without someone - who has never seen an M6500 in real life - blowing it way out of proportion. I say I am measuring a gamma that is not my ideal preference, and it gets turned into the display being crap. Yes, the preset for sRGB sucks in the ControlPoint software, but the rest of the display issues are minor.

Logging in tonight and reading where MannyA has posted - so whats broken, the M6500 or the Spyder - is the last straw. Neither are broken. Dell and Colorspyder were working to get better calibrations. Some people lack the ability to read anything online without embellishing it.

I 100% think MannyA's main contribution to this thread has been to keep the pot stirred and make drama. You missed your calling man, Realiy TV needs producers to make sure the Kardashian's keep fighting over nothing.

    Night all.

Bokeh, your contributions are greatly appreciated in this thread. There are a few conspiracy theorist posters who make hyperbole comments but 99% of us readers are grateful for your research and take it for what it really is... helpful information.

My system should arrive in a few days and I can't wait for it to get here :D

Ditto. Your early posts on the white point and luminance readings at different settings helped save me a bunch of time getting to a good calibration.

    Thanks!

    Audio Popping Noise

Today I received my Intel 5300 to replace my Dell 1510. I originally ordered the Intel, but they canceled my order and told me to get the 1510. Not sure why.

Well, I have the noise canceling head phones on now for 15 minutes and I have no popping noise (so far). So I wonder if it is the 1510 causing it.

I do not think it was enough to disabled the 1510, I think taking it out of the system helped.

Is there anyone with the Intel 5300 that has the audio issues we have been discussing? Anyone with the audio popping noise, try removing the 1510 from the system and see if that helps.

Also, as an FYI, the 5300 has me locked in at 144 Mbps where just before the 1510 was around 105 and jumped all over.

UPDATE: So much for that. Unplug the head phones, plugged in the external speakers and the faint popping is there. I will try the disable wireless a next.

UPDATE 2: Disabled wireless a in on the intel 5300 and still there.

    Mike

Thanks for the info updates Havoctex, and yes the daughterboard would be preferable for my own use :)

And Bokeh, your posts have been invaluable for many of us here, so please don't leave :)

Just a quick question while I am writing this. Could anyone confirm if their hard drive led keeps ticking over every second or so even when the machine has been sitting idle for a while. I have tried disabling most devices on the system to see exactly what is causing this constant reading from or writing to the HD. On the Resource Meter it only seems to be showing this action from the Hard Drive with the OS.

It is not a problem as such but I am just trying to narrow down a possible reason why I am getting glitches when recording to my sequencer, Steinberg Cubase, from my external audio platform, SonicCore XITE-1, via the expresscard slot.

But I would be interested to see if anyone else's HD led is blinking on and off every second or so, and if or how they have managed to stop it at all.

    Thanks
