I have so much to install, Adobe CS4 Master, Remote Server Admin Tools, Mbox Pro Tools, AutoCad, XPM with Images, etc. etc.

I took me all day to get half way setup. And the machine is really good, I mean top notch.

I was worried about the Samsung display but after calibrating it I am extremely happy compared to the U2410 Dell monitors.

Other issues like Bokeh said are minor and should be fixed by Dell soon.

I have to say from having the edge to edge and going to the RGB without the glass, the non edge to edge is much nicer.

No fingerprints everytime you open the lid, no reflections, no keyboard marks, and dusk. Extremely happy!

Wow, I feel stupid. I just realized that havoctex is a Dell insider that works with the M6500.

How cool is that! There's an actual Dell rep in a web forum, listening directly to the customers and responding with candid and accurate information. That's not something I would expect from one of the biggest PC makers; that's more like something a boutique shop would do. I think it's fantastic, and it has certainly improved my perception of Dell.

I had all but written off the M6500 due to this thread, but has havoctex changed that. Now I'll be checking for the USB 3.0 upgrade and quite possibly laying down the cash I have allocated to the machine purchase.

    Thanks, havoctex!

Cool. Maybe he can explain why the 920 processor is not available in Asia.
I have no regret in getting the only available option(the 820 ordered last Dec 21 arrived Jan 14). Just wondering why only.

btw, what is Dell 420 UWB used for? I didn't choose this as I probably will never need it, just curious.

Good for you.....I'm reordering mine at the earliest date possible (USB 3.0)..even the rep said it was too close not to do this if I really needed the functionality. I'm telling you from being an m4400 owner....Precision people tend to be on the perfectionist side. I love my m4400, but check the threads on that m4400...it's a fantastic notebook....but many of the posts are downright disturbing (downclocking, RGBLED probs, Sound popping, Crashes, etc etc)....I've never experienced a single problem with mine that wasn't driver related or my own frakking fault.....LOL....

    I agree!

It has improved my perception of Dell too and thanks to havoctex and his colleagues, I am quite sure that my surreal situation will have a happy ending..

Ok so it's quite obvious it's a problem from the sound card.
Did you notice any strange when you had no wifi card installed in the laptop?
About the connection speed, do you expect better performances? What the specs of your router?

I did not test it with no card in the system,. I have wireless N access points so with N, and hitting it, I should get the 144Mbps. So far the Intel was locked in on it. The 1510 jumped around initial at 5Mbps, after working with pro support, it hit the 144Mbps, but still moved around from around 107 to 130 and at times 144 Mbps.

Yes the Blu Ray optical drive supports both reading and writing Blu Ray. It is full featured.
