    rinconmike,

I don’t know what’s up with that. I wonder if it’s a certain DVD option.
What DVD option did you selected?

We need to take a poll of the members that have the sound problem.
To find out what DVD option they have, to see if this is a certain DVD Option problem or not.

    What do you think... ?

    YBcold,

From what I am reading ColorMunki is the best solution right now for the M6500
There appears to be a glitch with spyder 3 Elite in some cases,
but I hear that DataColor - spyder 3 Elite is working with dell on that Issue.

User “ keithsnell ” is using the ColorMunki solution, and it is working for him.

Now the last time I weighed in on this I got my head chopped off, here we go again... lol :D

    I hope this helps

are those calling "mine is getting delivered tomorrow or today" living in Europa?
If that is the case what screen did you order and when did you order?

Today mine is again moved up 10 days, we ordered 5 feb, estimated delivery date was then 2 march, that got bumped up to 12 march and today it got bumped up again to 22 march. Dell just cant deliver our Precisions with an RGBLED 1920x1200 screen.

So i am very curious about people ordering that screen in Europa after we did and that are receiving there M6500...

    Hi joco,

mine was delivered in time with WLED 1920*1200. Ordered on 4th Feb, arrived on 2nd March. Living in Germany and the laptop came from Poland.

I just bought a SuperTalent GX 128GB SSD and will combine it with my Seagate 7200.4 500GB hard disk.
I will install Win7 x64 on the SSD. Is there any recommendation where to put the boot SSD when it comes to performance or heat production? Should I put it in the primary or secondary hard disk bay?

Ah - sorry, I only put stuff I actually have in my sig, not stuff I've got on order so I assumed you had it.

I'm due to take delivery of two much-delayed M6500's within the next few days and I was wondering when you ordered it, as I was wondering if there was a chance of mine turning up with USB 3.0.

Either way, it's been so long I've no choice but to accept the machines if there's nothing wrong with them - I can't deal with running Boot Cramp on the MBP's any longer and these things are not built for heavy lifting in the way that the Dells are - but your sig gave me a slight ray of hope that I might get the newer spec.

Thanks for dashing said hopes :p

so you where just a day before our order.
So maybe you where lucky and you just got one of the last 1920x1200 screens :)

We ordered 4 of them, and i already talked to our sales contact and it doesnt matter if we choose WLED or RGB both are not in stock.
We do get them also from poland, so it is the same factory.

the SSD doesnt produce much heat, so i guess you can look where the drives are and if one of them are close to your palms then i would choose to have the ssd there. Else i dont think it matters. As long as you can boot from the SSD.

    Very difficult to say...
For sure, the benchmarks of the SSD HD are completely different between RAID0 and No RAID (cf. my previous posts).

I still do not understand why DELL deliver the system with RAID select in the BIOS instead of AHCI (when NO RAID was ordered). I am sure there is a reason...
