    luk73,

I didn’t say that the ATI card wasn’t certified. I said that Autodesk recommends the Nvidia FX 3800M.

And you have not stated what driver version you are using.
For that matter you haven't stated what the problem is. If it’s not broken don’t fix it…

I don’t know how much research you have done on this, but on Autodesk Manufacturing
Community. Search Terms: ATI 7740 Read the results.

    From M6500 Drivers and 8.633.2RC3, A00

From Dell: ATI FirPro M7740 Graphics Accelerator and Dell Precision M6400
and this Applies to the M6500 as well.

And on Twitter Edge: Read ATI FirePro

    From your own document:

    Dell Precision M6500 Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q 820 @ 1.73GHz 8 ATI FirePro M7740
    Win 7 Ultimatex64 4 GB 3,284 643 2,118 6,044 8.633.2 Certified

Drivers for: ATI Moblility Graphics Chipset. You have to get your drivers from Dell...

    Google: Inventor forum

    I hope this helps,

Where Autodesk says FX3800M is recommended on M6500? And especially for what reasons? Argue your answers with links thanks.
Is not necessary that there is a problem to understand what is best.
    I have not found anything
    I did not request this...

Found this for you: http://www.inventor-certified.com/g...uadro FX 3800&inventorVersion=R14.0&results=3

As you can see from the icon key of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800, Autodesk and/or Microsoft certified driver (WHQL). This driver and hardware is recommended by Autodesk and the graphics hardware vendor.

Luk, I am using the 9.12 modded driver (download the official ati driver and modded the inf file) I compared 9.12, 10.1-10.3 preview. This is the best driver for m7740 now.
Because M7740 belongs to ATI, and the reputation is lower than Nvidia FX, and also its much cheapper than fx2800m&3800m, dell didnt update their driver for long time. But I think the M7740 is a good card, from the m5800 and m7820 we can see ATI pays more attention on their professional area. Lets wait for the good driver!
Hope these link can help you. most of them I posted:

The FX 3800 is not the FX 3800 M
These certifications were made before the introduction of the M6500 (3/25/2009)

havoctex, thank you for saving my insanity. this advice was spot on.

Now I have another question, should my system have included the second tray and interposer for the 2nd HDD bay? Mine didn't and others did
