Yes, it’s generally the same on both, including the e-sata port.

Is this your boot drive or your secondary.
My boot (OS Drive) Vertex is slower than my secondary Vertex.
I chalk it up to OS overhead etc. But its not significant to be alarmed.

    Hi johnhace,

This is an excellent article on Intel's SSDs: Intel Releases TRIM Firmware for SSDs its from Oct 26, 2009.
If you have Intel SSDs you need to read this, and read the links within the review…

You will need something like rocketfish it’s a hard drive enclosure kit.
Just Google: 2.5 hard drive enclosure kit

Before you update your Firmware you should Burin an image of your primary hard drive C: drive to an external hard drive. I like Acronis True Image Home 2010 you can buy it just about anywhere.
You can download free trial of Acronis True Image Home 2010 at the bottom of the webpage.

Just Google: Acronis True Image Home 2010

You can buy, Acronis True Image Home 2010 -> Dell Only price for $35.95 that's a good price.

    Hope this helps,

Before spending money, it is always worth investigating that which you already own. Windows 7 (actually it was originally in Vista) introduced complete backup imaging as part of the OS. It images it directly to a .vhd file meaning it can be directly mounted as a disk in the OS, attached to a virtual machine or directly restored to a bare metal PC using the Windows7 media.

Backup and restore Center in the control panel. Select "system image" or select the drive you want to make an image of, then select a location on the disk or a network location (ability to put on network added in Win7).

It offers most of the same options as Acronis, it lacks some features but it serves a purpose and is free. Check it out :)

    Hope that helps someone.
