I simply re-booted and went into bios and enabled usb3. On re-boot it recognized the devices and installed the drivers. On start showed all was ready and device manager showed the install. Next was pluggng in 2 known usb2 devices to check compatibility, Nikon D300 and Canon 780. Both worked as normal. Sorry to hear about your woes. I have had a pleasant experience with everything working well so far.

Johnrg - what bios revision do you have if you don't mind me asking?

I have the Nvidia 3800 as well, and USB 3.0 still does not work

    I am using A02

    Hi giakomon,

Where your external monitors plugged into your M6500 whale you turned on
USB 3.0 in The BIOS? For that matter was anything plugged into the USB ports.

    On the USB 3.0 issues.

Are all of new USB slots blue on all M6500's?

Since the replacement board came with blue ones, I am hoping the newly manufactured USB 3.0 slots are also blue.

It would be a really easy way for people to *know* that their machine definitely came with USB 3.0.

Also - does the option of enabling them only present itself in Bios A02? Trying to see if someone could not be seeing the option to enable them because they still have the old bios. Also, is there a chance that you have to flash A02 over A02 like it used to be with video card swaps?

You can use the Zero as a headphone amp with a DAC or as a preamp for other sources. For the money, the ZERO is a great piece of gear. I use it with Sennheiser HD600 headphones in the office. The ZERO is able to switch between Toslink and digital Coax inputs so I have an imac on the toslink and the M6500 in the coax. You can also configure the ZERO to feed a fixed level output through RCA jacks in the back or use its volume control for variable output through the RCAs and 1/4 inch headphone jack.

I really need to see what the headphone jack in the M6500 sounds like. I have a set of Shure e3c, Klipsch s4, and Senn HD600 phones I could try. I hate to say it, but I really have no idea of how the headphone jack sounds with music and critical listening. It sounds fine with a headset on conference calls though.

    Hi mannyA

well, I don't remember if my external monitor (via diplayport) was connected when I tried this USB 3.0 first.
For sure anything wasn't connect to those USB ports.

As for my machine I've got A02 as bios and yes those two port are blue so I'm pretty sure my machine's got the new NEC USB board.

I'll give a try with no external monitor now, let's see if something new come up.

On some of the Nvidia drivers 0 is Black and White and on others 0 is unboosted color.

On the one where 0 is black and white, 50% is unboosted color. So if 50% is neutral (unboosted) everything gets less and less saturated until you get to 0 where there is no color. These are the ones where you can set the DV to 45% and get a decent approximation of srgb while leaving your monitor in ntsc mode.

The drivers you have installed will not allow you to desaturate the colors. Other Nvidia drivers will. When I get less crazy at work I will get some screenshots for you.

I did as you suggested in a prior post regarding the latest Nvidia driver. The scale being modified, I was able to set the scale at 40% and that really made a difference for web proofing srgb images especially reds and yellows and flesh tones which were usually unnaturally red. Seems an easy/effective solution to go back and forth as needed.
