    Well, my M6500 came with the bare minimum installed even compared to the M15x. So it can last 3 hours with me browsing the net and replying to posts like this. *LOL*

    You are welcome. Just glad that it helped, Peon1. Just ask me if you need further help. I just moved from Malaysia to Victoria, Canada with my M6500 so I am really loving it because it is my greatest link to home (my M6500 is assembled in Malaysia with the `made in Malaysia` sign underneath it). Anyway, it is working like a charm and glad it is lighter than my M15x so I can travel with it. :)

    Actually, I just wrote about this a few pages back: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=439109&page=315

    I am using the 80GB Intel X-25 SSD right now while typing this and it seems a bit faster than the original 64GB Samsung SSD that Dell gave me. 80GB is more than enough for my system drive where I install my software and 64GB is okay for my data with a few really huge software programs (like Visual Studio) that I don`t want on my system drive installed there.

    The second HDD caddie is right there in your M6500 packaged with screws and a connector in a nice sponge padding stuck inside your system. Be sure to take our your access panel to check if it is there first before buying your second HDD or SSD though. Here is the link to the service manual that shows you how to remove your access panel: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/wsm6500/en/index.htm
    It is quite easy as it just involves removing 2 screws. The second HDD bracket was there for me so I guess it should be there for you too.

    Hope this helps. :)

    I got a new DVD drive from Dell (GS20N) and everything is working fine now.
    Replacing the DVD drive is very easy, just removing the battery and one screw. I was so curious and removed the two other screws for the access panel, see attachement. Looks like room for improvements. :)

    what is the usual time from order to delivery?
    For states of the EU?

    I had a confirmed date of the subscription within 18 days, but still not delivered...

    Intel shows the 920xm/820qm/720qm as using DDR3-1066/1333.

    Dell sells DDR3-1600, but limits it to 8GB (heat?) and only with the 920.

    Is the because the clock is unlocked on the 920xm?

    What's the difference between the Nvidia 2800m and the 3800m other than the 32 CUDA Parallel Processor Cores (96 .vs. 128).

    Looking at spending limited $'s on more memory and less video & CPU:
    * 820qm
    * 12gb
    * 2800m
    * 2 x 256 SSD

    Any opinions?:)

    I had the same reaction and got the 2800. I'm using a FX540 now so anything is a step up. I was going wih the M4500 but decided to get a bigger screen and the M4500 would have topped out at the 1800 so the 2800 is a high end card and I'm very happy so far.
